Embeddable widget

Catering Order Widget

For the work that does not need quoting. A tray of sandwiches for Thursday is an order with a fulfilment slot, not a staffed event, and it should not have to go through a proposal.

What it does

On your own site, doing real work

Takes an order against a fulfilment window you have opened, with payment, and lands it in Orders rather than as an event. The retail and catering split is a real distinction in the data, not a label.

01 · their site

Your own website

Wherever you already send people. One block of HTML, pasted once.

02 · the widget/embed/order/<your-slug>
03 · your account

Where the result lands

In CaterCloud, against the customer, on the same calendar and pipeline as everything else.

DrawingCatering Order Widget — where it sits
Sourcesrc/app/(embed)/embed/order/[key]

01One snippet, no plugin. It works on any site that lets you paste HTML.

02The key in the URL is public by design and scoped to one widget config — it is an address, not a credential.

03An order is not an event: it books a slot, not a day, and it does not close a date or roster crew. Anything staffed belongs in the quote widget.

04Nothing here needs a CaterCloud-built website. If you have one, the same widget is a section instead of a paste.

Questions

What people ask before pasting it

Where does the code go?
Anywhere you can paste HTML — Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, Webflow, a hand-built site. It is one snippet and it does not need a plugin.
Do I need a CaterCloud website to use it?
No. These are built to go on the site you already have. If you do build your site with CaterCloud the widget is a section instead of a paste, but the widget is the same one.
What is the key in the snippet?
Your own embed key, which CaterCloud generates and shows you next to the copy button. The one above is a placeholder — the rest of the snippet is exactly what you will paste.
What can it not do?
An order is not an event: it books a slot, not a day, and it does not close a date or roster crew. Anything staffed belongs in the quote widget.
